Welcome to the International Office’s webpages for exchange students! We're happy to see you've chosen to enrol at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB). The International Office is here to offer you support during your stay at RUB and will help you every step of the way.
Your Path to RUB
1. Apply for an exchange programme at your home university.
2. If you are accepted onto the exchange programme, your home university or the organisation funding your grant will send RUB's International Office confirmation of your exchange visit.
3. Complete the pre-enrolment process online.
4. Please send the required documents (available below) to RUB's International Office by post.

Accommodation
If you would like to live in one of our halls of residence during your stay, the International Office will help secure accommodations for you.
Visas and staying abroad
There are special legal regulations for international exchange students, regarding residence in Germany. The International Office will help you navigate them successfully.
Orientation Course
The International Office organises an orientation course for students taking part in an exchange programme such as Erasmus. This takes place before the winter semester starts and provides new students with a helpful introduction to living and studying at RUB; you'll have everything you need to help you settle in!
